
WORK BC COUNSELLING BENEFITS
WorkBC offers free counselling!

You will need to be referred from a WorkBC case manager

You can go in person or go online portal called Online Employment Services (OES).

Get assessed for eligibility and what supports you need

WorkBC will review your situation (job search, skills, barriers, etc.)

You may be referred to an employment counsellor, workshops, or supports—some of which include “job‑search counselling” or employment readiness counselling.

Explain your need clearly: Ask for the 10 free counselling sessions that WorkBC provides.
You will need to participate in WorkBC programs to receive the counselling benefit.

Register for the service/support plan

Once you’re eligible and the right program is identified, you’ll work with a case manager or counsellor to set up an action plan.

You may receive supports including: job‑search help, skills/training, possibly financial supports for job‑start, personal employment coaching.

Follow through with the service and use the supports - there are lots of helpful things!

Attend sessions, complete any assignments or activities (resume writing, interview practice, workshops)

Use the resource room or online tools, stay in contact with your counsellor

If you’re starting a job, you may also get help (transportation, tools, clothing) from WorkBC.

Once you're all set up and your referral has been sent, you can book your first WorkBC counselling session!
